About Past Participles 

See past participles list (irregular verbs) below. Learn them, love them or hate them - but know the difference... Here is another, easier to view list of the 50 most common irregular verbs in English.

Note difference between Past Simple irregular verbs (went, was, grew, began) and Past Perfect/Participles (gone, been, grown, begun...). Past participle always uses the verb 'have'.

• When using Present Perfect - use the past participle form of the verb, NOT past simple.... and remember 'have'.

"She has ridden for many years."

• Unless using Present Perfect Continuous, where -ing ending is used. Still use 'have'. 

"She has been riding horses for many years"
