- Rich and descriptive vocabulary. Have you used a dictionary/thesaurus for ideas/help.
- Have you "reread" to yourself. Does it sound right?
- Have you asked a friend to read your essay - and lightly circle/underline questions with a pencil.
- Or... have you read to a friend. Did you find mistakes that "popped out"? Have you corrected them.
- Does your story have a "plot"
- Is it interesting for other readers. Is there a "sequence" of events?
- Can readers "feel the action"?
- Have you included rich descriptions of things/people/events?
- Is there a "mood". Have you created a mysterious/scary/joyous/sad/serious, etc. mood?
- What else makes a great narrative essay????
